Defining the project - Components list

  • Determining all print material and due date for each piece
  • Print specifications for each piece
  • Cost-effective alternative options for Client to review
  •  Canada Post regulations
    • postal and specification confirmation and information (if applicable)

Determining pricing and receiving Client approval

  • Include cost-effective alternative options for Client review
  • Mock ups of stock, showing folds and final expected size
  • Client approval to proceed with project - purchase order

Outline timing and milestones

  • Critical path is created including roles and responsibilities of all team members involved in the project
  • Agreement from all parties that timing is achievable

Design is complete - prep disc for film

  • High resolution images area added or "FPO" For Position Only is clearly identified on low res. Image
  • Disc is sent to film with all files and images.  Whether digital printing, litho or web, a film proof is always completed for final sign-off.  Print mock-ups are also done for larger, more complicated projects
  • Once film is signed off, printing begins

Film is complete - print process begins

  • Colours, including pantone and special links are collected and press gets prepared
  • Kaleidoscope's print production specialists attend all press approvals for QC (Quality Control) and sign off on final print product.  Once ink saturation and colour crispness are achieved, samples are gathered to provide them to all team members
